My name is Zuzana Strbakova and I’m an EFL teacher based in Bratislava, Slovakia. I’ve been teaching English for 20 years now, specializing in teaching adults in a work environment. As all of my students are business professionals, I teach a lot of Business English and ESP. Although I’ve been running my own business for the past 12 years, I haven’t stopped being a teacher at heart (if such a thing is even possible!). I thoroughly enjoy being in class with my students, still find it challenging at times, learning something new every day. For me, teaching is a never-ending learning curve and that’s what keeps me going all these years.
About this blog
Over the years of teaching ESP, I’ve developed a bit of a soft spot for Legal English. I find it challenging and fascinating, even fun at times. Although I’m not a lawyer myself, I love teaching lawyers and Legal English provides us with some common ground, offering me a peep hole into their profession and the law itself.
I’ve set up this blog to share some of that excitement with my fellow teachers, students or anyone similarly afflicted as well as spark some debate on the issues I face in class. Like most teachers, I’ve accumulated a lot of worksheets and other teaching aids which I intend to share with anyone who might find them useful. All I ask in return is shared enthusiasm and some constructive feedback. ?
